WWE Payback Betting Odds Give Entertainment Action On Sunday

LAS VEGAS – WWE Payback starts Sunday and offers some interesting betting opportunities.

When betting on WWE, there are a couple of things to keep in mind.

First, WWE results are predetermined, which means that betting on WWE is a lot like betting on other entertainment events.

There can be leaked results, for example, although WWE tends to keep things pretty close to the vest. Second, along those lines, results tend to not be particularly known, which means it’s a bit safer to bet on these than, say, Game of Thrones events.

Universal Championship Match - Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Braun Strowman

At the end of Summerslam, after The Fiend aspect of Bray Wyatt had defeated Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship, the two were interrupted by an unwelcome visitor.

Roman Reigns, the Big Dog, the heir apparent to the top position in the WWE, made his return to the ring. Reigns demolished both Strowman and The Fiend and set his sights on the Universal Championship.

Then, on Friday’s Smackdown, Reigns revealed an unlikely ally - Paul Heyman.

Heyman is infamous as the founder of ECW over two decades ago, and in the modern WWE, he serves as the mouthpiece to infamous bad guys like Brock Lesner.

Heyman is distinctly not the kind of friend that Reigns would have had in his earlier days - in fact, Reigns had rejected offers from Heyman in the past.

It seems that Roman Reigns might have finally acknowledged that being the good guy doesn’t always get the results desired. Reigns is set to face off against two absolute monsters in this Triple Threat matchup, however.

Strowman is a colossus, and The Fiend is a nigh-unbeatable menace, although it is unclear whether or not The Fiend will show up or Bray Wyatt will, given his unstable personas.

Reigns is seriously favored in this matchup according to the online sportsbooks which makes some sense. Reigns winning and making a statement upon his return would be a very interesting way to take the storyline.

Wyatt is next - the current champion, and potentially someone for Reigns to chase if he doesn’t win here.

Strowman, the former champion, sits at the back of the odds boards, which reflects his position as potentially a bit of a third wheel in this storyline.

This should be a brutal, powerful match, and Reigns is tipped to come out on top!

Keith Lee vs. Randy Orton

Keith Lee, the former NXT Champion, confronted Randy Orton to challenge him after Orton lost to Drew McIntyre. Lee challenged Orton in defense of McIntyre, who was brutally attacked by Randy Orton on Monday Night Raw.

McIntyre was seriously injured after McIntyre helped Lee on Monday, and Lee is set to face off with Orton to get revenge.

Lee is a -150 favorite in this matchup, which would be an interesting way to take this storyline.

The question is how real McIntyre’s injury is - if he’s seriously injured, Lee and Orton could feud for a while. If not, it’s unclear where the story goes from a Lee victory.

That said, Lee’s PPV debut being a loss might be problematic for him long term, which could be part of the reason why he’s favored here.

There are a lot of WWE betting aspects to consider when making wagers like this.
