Starting with the 13 seeds, they have made it on six different occasions and have lost every time. The most recent 13 seed to make it to the Sweet 16 was La Salle in 2013.

As for the 14 seeds, they have only seen two teams advance past the first two rounds which happened in 1986 with Cleveland State and most recently in 1997 with Chattanooga. 15 seeds have only seen Florida Gulf Coast reached the Sweet 16 which came back in 2013.

As for 16 seeds, they have never made it past the second round.

For those bettors that are looking for a bigger payout and are willing to accept the risk that comes with betting the Over, there are a few teams to watch out for that could, in fact, make a bit of a run.

Starting with the Ohio Bobcats, they should be seen as a dark horse team in the tournament as they are 7-point underdogs to the defending National Champions, Virginia Cavaliers. The reason being is that Virginia has been dealing with COVID-19 issues and there have been questions surrounding whether they will be fully healthy or not.

Also, make no mistake here as Ohio is one of the highest-scoring teams in the country as they average 80.9 ppg. With that, they could see themselves past a Virginia team that averages just 68.6 ppg. In the second round, they could potentially see Creighton who are favored to make it to the second round.

This potential matchup would be a shootout as Creighton puts up 77 ppg. It could all come down to who shoots the ball better in this one which the Bobcats have the ability to do.

Liberty Flames Sweet 16 Odds

Liberty is a great team to keep an eye on, especially in the first two rounds of the tournament. Liberty has been great all season long as they finished the year going 23-5. Aside from their offense which puts up 74.9 ppg, their defense is where they really thrive as they allowed just 59.6 ppg this season.

Some might think that this is because of the competition and that March Madness will be different, however, if they keep this up, they can certainly take down Oklahoma State in the first round.

They would then have a potential second-round matchup with Tennessee where things could get tougher. It could be a similar story though as the Flames defense is just too good and could keep anyone in check.

Colgate Raiders Sweet 16 Odds

The Colgate Raiders are a team that could be seeded higher than they are. They are a high-scoring team as they average 86.3 ppg and also have what it takes on defense as well as they are good at closing out on three-point attempts.

Closing out on three-pointers is going to come in handy in the first round as Arkansas is one of the better three-point shooting college basketball teams in the country. If Colgate could go shot for shot with them though, they could be in line to pull off the upset.

In the second round, a matchup with Texas Tech is favored to happen and Colgate could have an easier bout here than in the first round as the Red Raiders aren’t really known for their three-point shooting to begin with and do tend to get in foul trouble early. If Colgate takes advantage of this from the jump, they could very well be looking at a trip to the Sweet 16.
