NEW YORK – XFL betting is back on Saturday, February 29, 2020 – just in time for the leap day. It features two matchups where the spread is over eight points, so there are some interesting betting opportunities here for those who are well versed in spread betting.
The two games that take place on Saturday are the Los Angeles Wildcats vs. the New York Guardians and the Seattle Dragons vs. the St. Louis Battlehawks. The XFL odds are beginning to show that sportsbooks have caught on to who the better teams in the league are.
Los Angeles Wildcats vs. New York Guardians
New York continues to struggle and has not been a favorite by any betting metric in any game they’ve played since quarterback Matt McGloin’s well-publicized meltdown in Week 2.
This week is no different, as the Guardians enter this game as eight-point underdogs on the spread, and +260 underdogs on the moneyline.
The Los Angeles Wildcats, meanwhile, have been heating up, and this game against one of the worse teams in the league should be a good chance for them to show out and start their push towards the playoffs.
The Wildcats enter the game -8 on the spread and -320 on the moneyline.
The over/under line for this game is set at 39.0 points, which reflects the changing opinions about XFL offenses.
In theory, the XFL’s looser offensive rules should allow for similar offensive production as the NFL, despite the talent differential.
In practice, however, teams without elite quarterbacks have struggled to score in the XFL, and this is borne out in the spreads. These teams do not have that level of quarterback play, and thus the over/under is quite low.

Seattle Dragons vs. St. Louis BattleHawks
The Seattle Dragons enter St. Louis as the biggest underdogs of the week, and one of the biggest underdogs of the XFL season.
On the spread, the Dragons are +11.5 points, well outside the range of points possible on one possession even with the XFL’s generous touchdown scoring rules.
On the moneyline, the BattleHawks are -550, while the Dragons are +375.
The BattleHawks are led by breakout XFL star Jordan Ta’amu, who has electrified not only the league but America with his excellent performance as the quarterback for the St. Louis franchise.
Ta’amu has cemented himself as one of the premier quarterbacks in the league along with stars like PJ Walker of the Houston Roughnecks and Cardale Jones of the DC Defenders.
In accordance with this, the BattleHawks have the third-highest odds to win the championship at +375, behind Walker’s Roughnecks and Jones’ Defenders.
The Dragons, meanwhile, have some of the lowest odds in the league to win the XFL championship, tied with the Tampa Bay Vipers at +2000.
This game is not well matched on the field, but that is very literally why spreads exist – and with the XFL’s ruleset, this could be a heartbreaker for some spread bettors this week.
