- Dominick Reyes enters the fight off back-to-back losses.
- Jiri Prochazka knocked out Volkan Oezdemir in his UFC debut last July.
- Prochazka is slight -130 favorite over Reyes who comes back with +110 odds.
LAS VEGAS – Former title challenger Dominick Reyes (12-2) will fight up-and-comer Jiri Prochazka (27-3-1) in the main event for this weekend’s UFC event at the Apex in Las Vegas. The fight should be exciting as both fighters are primarily strikers and are both within the top five of the division’s rankings.
Styles Make Fights
It’s the most classic saying in combat sports, but it’s true. Styles do make fights, and this should be one hell of a fight. Both fighters are strikers which should mean this fight stays on the feet for however long the fight lasts.
Prochazka has an extremely unorthodox style of fight. He keeps his hands low, leans his head forward and is constantly moving with seemingly little to no intent other than just for the sake of moving. Reyes is more of a classic MMA fighter, but what makes him special is the power in his left hand.
Reyes started off his career 12-0 before losing back-to-back title fights against Jon Jones and Jan Blachowicz. Prochazka enters the fight on an 11-fight win streak but with just one fight in the UFC.
UFC Fight Night: Reyes Vs Prochazka Betting Odds

Reyes has beaten some very credentialed fighters, most notably Jared Cannonier, Ovince Saint Preux, Volkan Oezdemir and Chris Weidman. Prochazka is largely untested, but still has wins over Muhammad Lawal, C.B. Dolloway, and Volkan Oezdemir.

Bettors may find value in Fight Does Not Complete 2 Full Rounds (-150) or Fight Does Not Complete 1 Full Round at (+110).
Is Reyes an Underdog Worth Betting?
Reyes has fought, and arguably beat, some of the best fighters in the UFC while Prochazka is a newcomer on the scene with a style of fighting that can easily be taken advantage of by someone with the right tools.
Prochazka was actually losing his fight against Oezdemir pretty clearly before he landed the big right hand, and will likely need to rely on a knockout to beat the best fighters in the division. Inviting punches with your hands law and trying to counter is a dangerous style to fight, but even more dangerous against a guy like Reyes.
Those betting on the UFC this weekend may find value in Reyes as a +110 underdog due to his UFC experience and striking ability that could hurt the unorthodox Prochazka.
