- Aspen Ladd is the -130 betting favorite over Norma Dumont in the main event of the weekend.
- Carlos Felipe and Andrei Arlovski both have -115 odds in the co-main event.
- Jim Miller is the -230 favorite against Erick Gonzalez.
LAS VEGAS - The weekend's UFC event is the first event since rankings became official that there is a card without a ranked fighter competing in their division. However, there's always interest to be found by way of betting.
Is #UFCVegas40 the first card since the UFC rankings were introduced to not include a single ranked fighter competing in their weight class?
Ladd is #3 at bantamweight, but fights at featherweight this Saturday. No other fighter is ranked

Aspen Ladd Vs. Norma Dumont: The Main Event
Aspen Ladd and Norma Dumont will headline this weekend's UFC event in a fight where sports betting sites are hesitant to give either fighter a sizable advantage.
Ladd vs Dumont Moneyline Odds
- Aspen Ladd -130
- Norma Dumont +110
The two are different in their styles of fighting as Ladd looks to finish fights whether it be on the feet or with the ground and pound while Dumont prefers to look for submissions or grind out wins via decisions.
Ladd has six knockouts in her nine professional wins and uses her 5.22 significant strikes landed per minute average to do most of her damage. She also likes to change levels, averaging 2.45 takedowns per 15 minutes. Her weakness may be takedown defense as she only stops 66% of her opponent's takedown attempts.
Dumont has a better significant strike differential with her 4.98 landed per minute and 2.86 absorbed per minute, but also has a 100% takedown defense in her UFC career. Dumont should come in with a size advantage as Ladd will make her UFC debut at featherweight.

Andrei Arlovski Vss. Carlos Felipe: The Co-Main Event
Andrei Arlovski is a legend to the heavyweight division, but is now 42-years-old and has won just four of his last 10 fights. He'll be fighting the rising star, Carlos Felipe, who has won three straight UFC bouts. Although it seems like two fighters going on opposite career paths, the UFC betting sites have it listed as a pick 'em.
Arlovski vs Felipe Moneyline Odds
- Andrei Arlovski -115
- Carlos Felipe -115
The fight should stay on the feet as Felipe has never landed a takedown and Arlovski averages just 0.45 takedowns per 15 minutes. Felipe gets out-landed 5.62-4.88 on significant strikes per minute while Arlovski outlands his opponent 3.62-2.95 in the same category.
Although the striking numbers seemingly favor Arlovski, he's a shell of the fighter he once was and will likely not be able to handle the volume Felipe is sure to throw in his direction.
Jim Miller Vs. Erick Gonzalez
Jim Miller, a long-time UFC veteran, will be facing Erick Gonzalez who will be making his UFC debut. Miller is the all-time UFC leader in total fights and submission attempts while also being top five in finishes.
Gonzalez has seven wins by knockout along with one submission win in his career, but has compiled just a 14-5 record while fighting lesser competition on the lower promotions, it should make for a tough UFC debut.
Miller vs Gonzalez Moneyline Odds
- Jim Miller -230
- Erick Gonzales +185
Three of Gonzalez' losses have come by way of submission which leaves the door open for Miller to finish the fight by locking something in. Each of Miller's last four wins have come by submission and if bettors feel inclined to search for a bigger payout, could bet on Miller to win by submission at +200.
The main card will begin at 7 p.m. EST and can be seen on ESPN+.
