- Nate Diaz is listed with +365 odds in his first fight since Nov. 2019.
- Leon Edwards is the -525 betting favorite for the UFC 263 fight.
- This will be the first non-title, non-main event five-round fight in UFC history.
GLENDALE, Ariz. - Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards will fight in the first UFC five-round fight that’s neither a main event nor a title fight on Saturday. Diaz will be fighting for the first time since Nov. 2019 while Edwards has fought just one full round since July 2019.
Does Edwards Deserve To Be Such A Favorite?
Before Edwards near two-year hiatus, he was in the midst of an eight-fight win streak with wins over Vicente Luque, Donald Cerrone and Rafael dos Anjos. His most recent loss was in 2015 against the now-champion Kamaru Usman.
Diaz has split his last 10 fights with a record of 5-5. At this point in their respective careers, Edwards is probably the better fighter, but maybe not by the margin that online sportsbooks suggest with the odds.
Nate Diaz vs Leon Edwards Moneyline Odds
- Nate Diaz +365
- Leon Edwards -525
Diaz has the benefit of the fight being a full five rounds as he is notorious for using his cardio to his advantage and almost always comes on stronger in the later rounds. Edwards has remained adamant that ring rust doesn’t exist but it has to remain on the mind of bettors.

Will The Fight Go The Distance?
The odds slightly favor the fight being under 4.5 rounds, but the fighter’s fight styles may tell a different story. Diaz, the big underdog, is incredibly hard to finish. Of his 12 losses, only three came inside the distance and one of which was by a doctor stoppage due to a cut.
Nate Diaz vs Leon Edwards Total Rounds Odds
- Over 4.5 +110
- Under 4.5 -140
Edwards isn’t necessarily a knockout artist as 9 of his 18 wins have been by decision including each of his previous three wins. UFC bettors may want to look into the Under, especially considering it has plus-money value.
How To Watch
