KANSAS CITY — The Kansas City Chiefs have shown no signs of slowing down as they continue to look like the NFL’s best team with a 12-1 record as they sit atop the AFC. One of the major reasons why the Chiefs' offense has been so unstoppable outside of NFL MVP front runner Patrick Mahomes is because of tight end Travis Kelce.
Kelce is the unquestioned best tight end in football this season and he is top 10 in the NFL in catches (90), receiving yards (1,250), and receiving touchdowns (9).
Kelce’s 1,250 receiving yards are the most in the NFL and if he continues to play at this level not only could the Cincinnati product lead the league in receiving but he could also eclipse George Kittle’s record for most receiving yards by a tight end in a season with 1,377.
With only two games left it seems that record will be Kelce’s but will he be able to continue leading the NFL in receiving yards is the biggest question.
There has never been a tight end that led the NFL in receiving yards and Travis Kelce could become the first to do so. He’s already become the first tight end in NFL history to record five straight seasons of 1,000 yards.
