- China’s women’s team is the +250 betting favorite to win gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
- The Poland men’s team also has odds of +250 as the favorite.
LAS VEGAS – The Olympics are just under two months away and betting odds have been released for a variety of the events. For volleyball, China and Poland are favored to be the gold medal winners. Here’s a breakdown on the Olympic betting odds.
China Favored To Defend Gold Medal
The Chinese women’s volleyball team is the betting favorite to defend their 2016 gold medal in volleyball. China has been a staple in the women’s volleyball scene for a while now, placing top three in six of the last nine Olympics.
Tokyo 2021 - Women’s Volleyball Betting Odds
- China +250
- Italy +275
- Serbia +300
- USA +300
- Brazil +800
- Russia +1600

- South Korea +50000

- Kenya +100000
China also ranks No. 1 in the FIVB world rankings, holding a narrow lead over the United States’ team. China is well-deserving of the shortest odds and should be considered the favorite, but there’s a couple of teams with some extra value worth keeping an eye on.
The United States and Serbia’s teams should probably have the second shortest odds instead of the third-shortest, but both hold value. Given how close the top four teams’ odds are to each other, it’s a wide-open field but possibly a top-heavy one.
Poland Favored On The Men’s Side
Poland hasn’t had much success recently, having placed outside of the top four for the past nine Olympic Games. However, online sportsbooks label the team as the odds-on favorite to take home the gold medal this year.

Poland is the betting favorite, but Brazil is the world’s No. 1 ranked team as well as the defending champion. Brazil has also made the gold medal match in each of the past four Olympics.
Poland cruised through qualifying and is well-worthy of being near the top of the odds boards, but sports betting sites may be undervaluing the Brazilian team.
These Olympic betting odds may change as we get closer to the start of the games, but bettors may want to jump on Brazil at +300 while they can based on value alone.
