NBA Coaching Search And Odds For Nets, Bulls, Pelicans

• Jacque Vaughn is favored to be the next Brooklyn Nets head coach at +200 odds.
• Ime Udoka has +250 odds as being the next coach of the Chicago Bulls.
• Tyronn Lue is favored to be the next head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans with +200 odds.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – As the NBA playoffs are set to begin, there are already three teams who are beginning to search for their next head coach. The coaching search is on for the Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, and the New Orleans Pelicans.

Starting with the Brooklyn Nets, online sportsbooks have Jacque Vaughn as the favorite to be the next permanent head coach of the franchise.

Vaugh is the favorite as he is currently serving as the interim head coach for the team in the NBA bubble and was promoted to the position after the team parted ways with Kenny Atkinson.

Vaughn certainly has the credibility after this season to back up his odds. He has managed to coach this team to the NBA bubble and to the playoffs despite the team being plagued with countless injuries.

If any bettor is looking to make a safe bet here, it should be on Vaugh.

A longshot candidate here could be Jason Kidd as he was a former point guard for the team and is also a minority owner in the team.

Being that Kidd is a minority owner and also has plenty of coaching experience and was also a finalist to win the coach of the year award back in 2015 should be enough cause for bettors to take the risk here on Kidd for a nice payout.

Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls just recently joined the head coaching search after the team cut ties with Jim Boylen after just two seasons with the team.

NBA odds currently have Ime Udoka, assistant coach for the 76ers, as the favorite to take over the head coaching job here.

Udoka has been rumored to Chicago for some time now being that the team hired former Philadelphia 76ers executive, Marc Eversley.

Aside from Udoka’s relationship with Eversley, his resume definitely backs up his odds as he has served as an assistant coach under Gregg Popovich for seven years and even won a championship with him in 2014.

This should be more than enough for bettors to confidently bet on Udoka to be on the sideline in Chicago.

If any bettors are looking to take a bit of a risk, Kenny Atkinson would be the best option as his odds are not too long but still offer a great payoff. Atkinson is known for his development of young players as he did in Brooklyn with D’Angelo Russell, Caris LeVert, and Jarrett Allen.

Chicago would hit a home run here as they have tons of young, talented players for Atkinson to help develop in Coby White, Wendell Carter Jr., and Daniel Gafford.

New Orleans Pelicans

It is no surprise that the Pelicans have joined the coaching search as the team fired long time head coach, Alvin Gentry after the team failed to make the playoffs inside of the NBA bubble.

Looking at the odds board, Tyronn Lue is currently listed as the favorite.

Lue is the favorite being that he has direct ties with the Pelicans Vice President of operations, David Griffin. Griffin is who named Tyronn Lue the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 when they won the championship.

Lue has plenty of experience and a championship under his belt to back up his odds.

If bettors are looking to take a chance on a longshot, Adrian Griffin is the candidate to bet on. Griffin is currently an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors, so if hired, he does come with championship experience.

Griffin also comes from a great line of coaches being that he was an assistant under proven coaches like Scott Skiles and Tom Thibodeau. Those who take the chance here on Griffin could be met with a nice cash out as he is a very realistic possibility.
