DAYTONA, Fla.—Those bettors who are looking at NASCAR as their Valentine this year will have their hands full as the season officially gets underway on Sunday with the Daytona 500.
Looking at the odds for Sunday, online sportsbooks currently have Denny Hamlin favored to win the Daytona 500.
2021 Daytona 500 Odds To Win
- Denny Hamlin +800
- Joey Logano +900
- Brad Keselowski +1000
- Chase Elliot +1000
- Ryan Blaney +1000
- Kyle Busch +1200
- Aric Almirola +1200
- Kevin Harvick +1400
- Kyle Larson +1600
- Martin Truex Jr. +1600
Starting at the top, Denny Hamlin leads the way on the NASCAR odds board and surprisingly so. Not to take anything away from Hamlin as he is coming off of a spectacular season where he finished with 5,033 points and seven wins on the year. But looking at the lineup going into the race, he is way down at 25 which is far back enough that other drivers have the upper hand.
Heading into Sunday’s race, something to take note of is that 18% of the total betting handle at DraftKings Sportsbook has been placed on Hamlin. Not that his favored odds wouldn’t pay out well, but more money can certainly be made betting elsewhere.
Joey Logano
Following Hamlin on the NASCAR odds board is Joey Logano, who is also somewhat of a surprise, but has a better starting position than Hamlin does so he could actually make something happen here. Logano is starting off the race in the tenth position which is not bad. Logano also had a strong outing last season as he finished third in points with 5,034 but only managed three wins.

Brad Keselowski
Brad Keselowski is a name that should not be forgotten this season and at the Daytona 500 in general as he was one of the more surprising driver’s last season. He finished second overall on the year with 5,035 points at the end of the NASCAR Playoffs and had four wins to his name as well. He is going into this season on Sunday surely with more recognition and will look to back that up with a strong first race.
Kevin Harvick
Bettors that followed NASCAR last season are sure to remember Harvick as he led all drivers throughout the season with nine total wins and an impressive 20 top-5 finishes.
It is very eye-opening that Harvick’s odds are where they are right now being that he has the most winning experience from last season. Also, of all the drivers mentioned before, Harvick has the highest starting position in the race at number eight. Looking at how bettors are feeling on Harvick, he currently owns just 7% of the betting handle which makes for a nice darkhorse bet.
With that said, bettors should be jumping at the opportunity to lay action on Harvick while they can as his odds offer a huge payout.
