CORAL GABLES, Fla. – After a series of months that led most to believe the glorious bastion of collegiate football was no more than a pipe dream, the game is finally here and ready to be played.
While the conditioning of the players might be less than what fans have come to expect, the same teams and coaches will be hitting the field this week in an attempt to restore the world to a little bit of normalcy.
The first team from a major conference takes the field Thursday night as the Miami Hurricanes of the ACC host the UAB Blazers.

Of course, this isn’t a bad thing from the start, as the nostalgic swag of “bringing back the U” is always a buzzword in the early phases of each Miami football season before the disappointment sets in.
Miami returns half of its starters on a defense that was able to get important stops last year and ranked sixth or better in tackles for loss in each of the last three seasons.

King came over from the Houston Cougars where he was electric in both the passing and running game.
With all that said, it should still be an easy win for the Hurricanes.
While they might not be able to cover against a pesky UAB defense, the over at 55 points looks like the most probable play for college football bettors.
Both teams are capable of scoring high, and the implementation of King under new offensive coordinator Rhett Lashley should put points on the board.
