Although over $125,000,000 is going toward education, New York sportsbooks were fined a massive amount of $23,000,000, something that has never come close to happening in the history of New York mobile sports wagering. Their second-highest fine amount was $165,544 in December of 2024. The reasons for this large fine are still unsure, but there will be a meeting in New York on Monday to discuss the reasons.
