The Favorites
After all of the roster moves and chaos during the Stage 3 group play, three teams are considered the overwhelming favorites to take home the Stage 3 Major and therefore the $200,000 grand prize.
Atlanta FaZe (+150)
Online sportsbooks peg the Atlanta FaZe as the favorite to win the Major. FaZe wasn’t able to win their group and earn a first-round bye for the first time this season, but still are thought to be the best team in the league when at the top of their game.
FaZe will open up the tournament with the Dallas Empire and assuming they win will face the Toronto Ultra in a repeat of the Stage 2 Major Final. Despite not winning the group, FaZe did still land in the winner’s bracket, allowing them to drop a game and still be able to fight through the loser’s bracket to reach the championship.
Simp and Cellium both rank inside the top five for overall K/D leaders while aBeZy ranks sixth and Arcitys ranks 13th, meaning this team is often the most frustrating to play against due to the raw talent on the roster.
FaZe started the year as possibly the most dominant team in Call of Duty history, but they haven’t been playing at peak form which may lead to some questions as to why they are the favorites in this tournament. Regardless, they are -400 betting favorites against the Dallas Empire in round one.
Toronto Ultra (+300)
The Toronto Ultra built off of their spectacular run in the Stage 2 Major by completely dominating Stage 3 group play. The Ultra not only went 5-0 in group play but won the overall map count 15-1, only losing a Hardpoint to the Minnesota ROKKR.
Toronto, since benching Methodz and adding Insight, have been nearly unstoppable. Insight has joined the league as a rookie and established himself as arguably the best AR in the game. He is second in overall K/D, third in Hardpoint K/D and first in Search and Destroy K/D.
Right now, the Ultra are by far the best in the COD League and it might surprise some that sports betting sites don’t have them as the odds-on favorite.
The Ultra earned a first-round bye and will play the winner of Atlanta and Dallas.
New York Subliners (+350)
The New York Subliners were already among the best teams in the league, but adding HyDra to the roster has pushed them to the next level. Since HyDra joined NYSL, the team is 9-0 in Hardpoint and used that to win their group and grab a first-round bye in the Major.
HyDra, despite primarily speaking French, has entered the league and put himself among the best players in the game. He’s third in overall K/D and first in hardpoint K/D while also being first in Hardpoint kills per 10 minutes among active players.

The “French Phenom” has made all of his teammate’s roles significantly easier as the main slayer and the Subliners seem to be on track to potentially give Clayster his third consecutive World Championship.
Darkhorse Candidates
The aforementioned three teams are thought to be the only ones with a real chance of winning, but there’s a couple of teams to keep an eye on with longshot odds.
Los Angeles Thieves (+1000)
The Los Angeles Thieves have had a wild ride of a season. They were near the top of the league at the start of the season, but after benching Temp and SlasheR, struggled mightily. Adding Drazah and Venom eventually seemed to work out as the Thieves went on a good run to find themselves in the winner’s bracket for the Stage 3 Major.
However, the Thieves made another roster change, benching TJHaLy after acquiring Huke in what is maybe the craziest storyline in the CDL season.
Los Angeles was finding their form, but now have to adjust to another new face on the roster. There are questions as to whether LA has enough time with the new roster to succeed, but Huke is considered one of the best players in the world and could make the team significantly better if they figure things out.
The Thieves are -140 favorites against the Florida Mutineers in the first round and would play the Subliners if they win.
Minnesota ROKKR (+2000)
The ROKKR came out and laid an egg against the Empire in their final game of group play and now find themselves in the loser’s bracket. Loser’s bracket teams haven’t had too much success in the Majors this year, but Minnesota could be the team to make a run.
At different points in the season, Minnesota has been one of the best Search and Destroy teams as well as one of the best Hardpoint teams, but never at the same time. If the team can put the two game modes together, eSports bettors could get a good value pick with the ROKKR.
Standy, as a rookie, as established himself as one of the better SMG’s in the game while Attach, Priestahh and Accuracy have all had their moments as well, making this a dangerous team when all are playing well.
This team’s highs are very high and their lows are very low, it’s really just a matter of how the team happens to play on a given weekend. The ROKKR have a bye in the loser’s bracket and will play the winner of the London Royal Ravens and Paris Legion. The Royal Ravens are a -190 betting favorite against Paris.
