Darkhorse Teams To Win To Win The NBA Finals

• The Miami Heat have +2000 odds to win the NBA Championship.
• The Dallas Mavericks have +2500 odds to win the NBA Finals.

ORLANDO, Fla. – As the first round of the NBA playoffs continues, the time has come to start looking at potential darkhorse teams from each conference to win the NBA Finals.

Currently leading the odds on online sportsbooks are the Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Milwaukee Bucks.

There is no doubt as to why the Bucks, Lakers, and Clippers have all been in and out of the favorite spot as they are all sitting at the top of the east and west. However, there are other teams that could come out and surprise them to win the finals.

Eastern Conference

Looking at the Eastern Conference, the Miami Heat are the team to look at here as they have put the league on blast in the first round thus far.

They have completely shut down the Indiana Pacers as they hold a 3-0 lead in the series and will likely complete the sweep.

Being that the Heat are almost certainly moving on to the second round, they now turn their focus to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Going into the second round, the Heat have the Bucks matched (likely) as they won the season series 2-1 and have proven to be a huge threat.

Kendrick Perkins could not have said it any better: the Bucks do not want to see the Miami Heat in the second round.

This team is filled with talent across the board with Jimmy Butler leading the way and Bam Adebayo amongst the finalists for most improved player of the year and Duncan Robinson one of the premier three-point shooters in the league.

In one of their wins over the Bucks, they held Giannis Antetokounmpo to his lowest scoring total of the season at just 13 points. Not to mention, the Heat have also defeated the other top teams in the eastern conference as well such as the Boston Celtics and the Toronto Raptors.

Being that the Heat do matchup with Milwaukee and just about anyone else in the league, it is safe to consider “those goons from Dade-County, in Miami” a real threat to win the NBA Championship.

Western Conference

Looking out in the Western Conference, “Luka Magic” is well and alive and the Dallas Mavericks have proven that they are the real deal.

They are currently tied at 2-2 with the Clippers whose NBA odds are favored to win the NBA Championship.

The Mavs have shocked the basketball world here as they beat the Clippers in Game 4 without one of their star players in Kristaps Porzingis. With or without Porzingis, Luka Doncic has been on an absolute tear in leading this team as he has averaged 29 ppg 7 rpg and 7 apg.

Also, something to take note of here is that the Clippers, specifically Paul George, have been struggling tremendously.

George has been far from “Playoff P” as he has gone an awful 27% shooting from the field and if his struggles continue, there is a valid reason to believe that Dallas will send them home early.

Aside from the Clippers, the Mavs can match up with just about anyone in the Western Conference including the Lakers, who are currently in a struggle of their own against the Portland Trailblazers.

With that being said, the Mavs odds to win the championship are certainly worth taking as they would also come with a giant payout.
