- Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott will need an MRI on his right shoulder before he will be eligible to play, as he strained it during practice.
- Prescott was taken out of the season in October of last year after enduring a year-ending ankle injury.
- The Cowboys say that the QB is healthy to start the 2021-2022 NFL season and there is no reason to worry about the test.
DALLAS – It seems like Dallas Cowboys’ QB Dak Prescott has seen more games from the bench than he has on the field as the player has been constantly plagued with injuries since last year. Prescott will undergo an MRI on his right shoulder for a strain that he endured during camp. While not serious, the athlete had to sit out for one week of practice. He started throwing again on Wednesday. However, the MRI is nothing more than a test to ensure Prescott is good to play and not because he is seriously injured.
“Once I get back in the team setting, I’m not going to think about my arm,” said Prescott. “It’s about progressing at the right time. It all felt good out there. Every throw I made. When they tell you stop, you don’t want to hear it, but you stop.”
Prescott had a season-ending injury last year when he dislocated his right ankle along with having a compound fracture during the October game against the New York Giants. With surgery and rehab, the player claims his ankle is stronger than it’s ever been. But now there’s his right shoulder issue. Pretty much, Daks needs ultimate coverage on his right side when he’s on the field and his teammates should be aware of that because opponents will be going for that side of him this year.
Odds On Dak
Online sportsbooks have odds on Dak playing this season. The player himself is ready to and while he would like to play in the preseason, he would much rather sit out all of the preseason games if that means his arm is ready to face QB Tom Brady and the favored Tampa Bay Buccaneers -300 on September 9 for the first game of the regular season for Dallas +250.
NFL betting is already underway and there are two wagers on Dak listed on sports betting websites. None of these bets have to do with the now injury-prone quarterback but that could be a factor in how they pan out for sports bettors.

- Dak Prescott +150
- Joe Burrow +450
- Christian McCaffrey +900
- Saquon Barkley +900
- Jameis Winston +1200
Prescott is the most favored in this category because if he can stay healthy, he could definitely live up to the title. He could bring that fire back in 2021.
