French Open Betting

The Men’s side of the French Open is underway in the world of Tennis, which means that only a few weeks after the US Open, another major tournament trophy is on the line.

There are a lot of names to keep track of in the opening rounds of this tournament, and Daniil Medvedev has been a name to know for a while now.

Medvedev, who made it to the Finals of the US Open before losing to Dominic Thiem, is one of the very best players in the world.

While it must be acknowledged that his run at the US Open was bolstered by the absence of Novak Djokovic, it was still an excellent run.

Medvedev enters this tournament as the fourth seed, and sits at fifth place on the ATP’s rankings boards.

In his opening round, he faces off against Marton Fucsovics, and the matchup is an interesting one.

On the spread, Medvedev is advantaged by 6.5 games, which is a genuinely large spread considering the moneyline.

The way to read these odds is that they are implying that Medvedev, should he win, will win big.

That said, he actually has relatively long moneyline odds for someone who has a 6.5 spread in their favor.

For example, Roberto Bautista Agut has a similar -6.5 spread in his matchup against Richard Gasquet, but his moneyline odds are -550, dramatically shorter than Medvedev’s.

This is an interesting discrepancy, and tennis bettors should take note of matches with comparable odds when wagering on this one.

EPL Betting

Liverpool, the reigning champions of England, are set to face what could be a tough test in this new season as they battle Arsenal.

Arsenal have had some up and down years, but they do have talent on their squad, and they did finish in the top 8 of the Premier League last year.

That said, judging on last season’s performances, nobody would be close to Liverpool.

Arsenal have started off this season strong, winning both of their matches so far, and Liverpool have done the same.

Assuming one of these teams manages to win on Monday afternoon, they will be sitting near the top of the PL table along with 3-0 teams like Leicester City and Everton.

The matchup does not appear to be particularly close on the odds boards, however.

Liverpool are odds on favorites, with -185 odds to take the win in this matchup and move to the top portion of the PL table.

Arsenal are more than 4:1 underdogs, which is a position they rarely find themselves in, and a Draw sits close to 4:1 odds as well.

The spread is in Liverpool’s favor by a full goal and then some, with shading on that spread favoring Liverpool as well.

Overall, the matchup looks to be well in favor of Liverpool, which makes Arsenal an interesting underdog play here, although their moneyline odds are far more enticing than their spread odds.

Soccer bettors will have to weigh out how they want to approach this matchup.

Monday Night Football Betting

Lamar Jackson. Patrick Mahomes. Two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, perhaps the two best quarterbacks in the NFL, are set to go head to head on Monday Night Football.

The Kansas City Chiefs are the reigning champions, and the Baltimore Ravens are the team most likely to upset them this year.

This matchup will carry a lot of weight on the odds boards, so NFL bettors will want to be watching this one no matter what.

Given that, the Preview for this matchup will focus on some prop bets that wagerers can take a look at in the runup to this game.

First things first, here’s the spread for the game on Bovada:

Now, keeping that in mind, check out the point total Over/Under lines at the same sportsbook.

This seems to suggest that the Ravens should actually be favored by more than three points on the spread - way more than three points.

This can also shed light on the Over/Under for points in the whole game, which is set at 55.0 points.

In this case, there’s not a similarly sized discrepancy, although there is one - 29.5 + 24.5 adds up to 54, which is a point lower than the 55.0 Over/Under line for the game.

This seems a bit less meaningful - the difference between 55 and 54 is a very small percentage, while the difference between a -3 spread and a -5 spread is massive.

This matchup should be a great one, and could very well be a matchup that will end up defining this era of NFL football.
