LAS VEGAS – Welcome to this Saturday edition of the Daily Sports Betting Preview! Today’s betting starts out with WWE’s NXT Takeover, which has several interesting matches on the card.

Then, the Preview takes a look at a great boxing matchup as Dillian Whyte takes on Alexander Povetkin.

Finally, the Preview checks in with the Caribbean Premier League for some cricket action.

WWE NXT Betting

WWE betting is an interesting occurrence. It is a combination of sports betting and entertainment betting.

The results of the matches are predetermined, and that means that the betting lines are often influenced by insider information.

That said, it is also fairly doable to predict WWE match outcomes based on the story they are trying to tell.

This means that dedicated WWE fans can make a profit betting on their favorite sports entertainment outcomes.

Let’s take a look at the most interesting NXT Takeover XXX matchup.

Adam Cole steps into the ring to be Pat McAfee’s first wrestling opponent. McAfee has been working for WWE for a bit now, but this is the first time he will face off against anyone in a wrestling match.

McAfee seems positioned as the heel (the bad guy) in the feud, spending Wednesday’s mic time insulting Cole and talking about how useless he is without his cronies, the Undisputed Era.

This could be a match defined by outside interference. Cole is no stranger to having his stable interfere to help him, and McAfee seems to have recruited, as he put it, “28 years of NFL experience” to be his backup.

Cole is a -170 favorite in this matchup, while McAfee is a slight underdog with +130 odds.

Bettors will have to weigh the story they are trying to tell, as well as the relative star power of McAfee when trying to figure out what the result will be.

This matchup could genuinely go either way, and the result will likely depend on whether or not McAfee will continue to perform as a wrestler after this.

If he does not, it would not make a lot of sense for Cole to lose here, which could cost him some credibility as a wrestler. If he does, a win is definitely on the table.

This looks like it could be a really interesting matchup, and WWE bettors are in for a treat with this one.

Boxing Bout Betting

Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin are finally facing off, in a clash that will determine the WBC Heavyweight Interim Champion. In addition, this fight will determine who is next up in the heavyweight division, and who will face off against Tyson Fury for the WBC belt.

The heavyweight division has been dominated by Fury, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, and one of these fighters will have a chance to enter that top tier, at least for a brief time.

Whyte is a serious favorite in this matchup, and looks set to catapult himself into the top tier of heavyweights. Whyte’s only professional loss was to Anthony Joshua in 2015, and it is widely believed that he is a much-improved boxer since that fight.

He seems like an obvious choice as a star in the division, and a rematch with Joshua could be an interesting one down the line.

Both fighters pack knockout power, and that means there is always an element of uncertainty in a fight like this. It is worth noting that Povetkin, at 40 years old, is far older than Whyte is, and has fought 10 more fights in his career.

Povetkin has a pedigree, though. He was the 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist, and is a dangerous fighter even at his advanced age.

This fight looks like a can’t-miss bout, so boxing bettors should make sure all bets are in!

Caribbean Premier League Betting

Once again, the Preview checks in with the Caribbean Premier League, for all of the cricket bettors out there.

The Premier League only just restarted, so there isn’t a lot of data to be found, but two good teams are set to play today.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors are 1-1, as are the Jamaica Tallawahs. The Amazon Warriors have the highest run rate in the league so far, however, at 0.616.

Last year, however, the Amazon Warriors were the best team in the league bar none, winning all 10 of their matches. The Tallawahs, by contrast, only won two matches the entire season and were the worst team in the league.

This matchup seems remarkably close considering that, although things have changed in the offseason. Regardless, online sports betting players should really enjoy the chance to bet on the Caribbean Premier League once again.
