- The Golden State Warriors are -210 betting favorites over the Memphis Grizzlies.
- The Los Angeles Angels are narrow favorites over the Oakland Athletics with odds of -115.
- Brooks Koepka is +200 against Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy and Louis Oosthuizen is +110 against Ryan Palmer and Thomas Detry.
LAS VEGAS – In sports on Friday, we have a jam-packed day. The final NBA play-in game is tonight as well as a full slate of MLB games and the second round of the PGA Championship.
We’ll touch on all three in today’s Daily Sports Betting Preview.
NBA Betting: Warriors vs Grizzlies
The final play-in game of the season will be between the Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies. The two will battle for the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference and the winner will meet the Utah Jazz in a best-of-seven series.
Against the Warriors, the Los Angeles Lakers were 5.5-point favorites and -210 on the moneyline, but now the Warriors find themselves as 5-point favorites and -210 on the moneyline against the Grizzlies.
Theoretically, Golden State should win this game and cover the spread, but the best play at online sportsbooks might be on the total.
Warriors Vs Grizzlies Total Points
- Over 221.0 -110
- Under 221.0 -110
Throughout the regular season, both teams had an average total of 225 points, but in their three matchups, their totals were 214, 214, and 219 points. Also, both teams’ first play-in game went under 221.
Due to defense playing more of a factor in NBA postseason play and the past results between the two teams, the Under seems to have the most betting value.
The game will start at 9 p.m. EST and will be broadcasted on ESPN.
MLB Betting: Angels vs Athletics
MLB bettors may find some good value on the underdog in this game between the Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics. Online sportsbooks list the Angels with the shorter odds, but it may be the A’s who actually have the advantage in the game.
Angels vs Athletics Moneyline Odds
- Los Angeles Angels -115
- Oakland Athletics -105
Los Angeles is sending Jose Quintana to the mound, a left-handed pitcher with an 8.53 ERA and 1.97 WHIP so far this season. Not only is Quintana struggling, but the A’s hit lefties pretty well. Oakland ranked second in home runs, third in doubles, and third in RBI against left-handed pitchers in the MLB.
The A’s should be able to put enough runs on the board to take this game as an underdog.

PGA Championship: Second Round 3-Ball Options
The second round of the PGA Championship started early on Friday as golfers fight to close the gap on the lead as well as avoid the cut. With so much on the line, let’s look at a couple of interesting 3-ball betting options.
2nd Round 3-Ball Betting Odds
- Rory McIlroy +150
- Justin Thomas +175
- Brooks Koepka +200
Brooks Koepka was six shots better than Both Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas in Round 1, but remains the longest shot among the bunch in round two.
Sports betting sites aren’t giving Koepka enough respect and seemingly for no clear reason. The man is a machine at major events. Half of his PGA Tour wins are majors and he’s won this event twice in the past three years.
He’s going against some of the top players in the world, but based on value alone, Koepka is worth a play with these odds.
Koepka’s group is set to tee-off at 1:58 p.m. EST.
2nd Round 3-Ball Betting Odds
- Louis Oosthuizen +110
- Ryan Palmer +185
- Thomas Detry +275
In the first round, Louis Oosthuizen shot three strokes better than Ryan Palmer and five strokers better than Thomas Detry. To be frank, this is a two-man race between Oosthuizen and Palmer. If Detry has the round of his life and can beat these guys, it’d be shocking.
Palmer was playing well at the beginning of the year, but has fallen off a bit lately while Oosthuizen has been picking things up lately, finishing tied for eighth in his last even at the Valspar Championship.
Getting plus-money odds on someone who’s been playing better golf overall as well as played better in the first round is just too much value to ignore.
Oosthuizen’s group is set to hit the course at 1:36 p.m. EST.
