- Brooks Koepka and Dave Portnoy will face off in a charity golf match.
- To make the match more even, Koepka will play left-handed.
- Koepka is still a notable favorite, with -850 odds to win the match.
LAS VEGAS - Brooks Koepka, playing with his left hand, will face off against Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy in a charity golf match.
Koepka, one of the best golfers on planet earth, may not have been given enough of a handicap to make this an even matchup.
In fact, he referred to the matchup as “Champ vs. Chump” on twitter as Portnoy billed it as “Champion vs. Champion”.

Koepka is more or less correct in his assessment, at least as far as golf skill is concerned.
Even with his left hand, he’s more than a favorite to beat Portnoy in this challenge - he’s a dominant favorite according to the online sportsbooks.
Dave Portnoy vs Brooks Koepka Challenge Odds
- Brooks Koepka -850
- Dave Portnoy +450
Koepka has -850 odds to win the challenge left-handed, while Portnoy has +450 odds to win it, even with the use of his right hand.
Koepka has been seen using his left hand in practice before, and it turns out he’s still remarkably talented, even with his left hand.

Anyone watching that video would not be forgiven for immediately placing a bet on Koepka, which partially explains the lopsided odds.
Portnoy plays with an 18 handicap, so the gap between the two seems to be fairly large, even if Koepka is restrained to his left hand.
When it comes to golf betting, the outcome does not seem in doubt, although it’s important to remember that this is all harmless fun, with both players playing for a chance to win $250,000 for a charity of their choice.
Koepka is playing for his own charity foundation, while Portnoy is playing for The Barstool Fund.
This may not be the best golf event of the year in terms of quality of play, but it certainly provides a unique golf betting experience for those who wish to wager on it.
The match will take place on September 7, 2021, at a time and place to be determined. It will be live streamed on Barstool’s Instagram page.
