ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Borgata casino launched an online sportsbook on Tuesday, one year after the removal of PASPA.
Sports betting was made legal when the Supreme Court overturned the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act on May 14, 2018. To celebrate the one-year anniversary, Borgata launched an online sports wagering platform.

Borgata was the first sportsbook that launched in Atlantic City. This made Borgata one of the highest grossing sportsbooks in New Jersey at the time. That is not the case anymore. A revenue report shows the market is currently dominated by the Meadowlands Racetrack. This is thanks to their partnership with FanDuel.
FanDuel is not the only dominate online sportsbook. The DraftKings Sportsbook in New Jersey also has a strong market hold. Online sportsbooks bring in 80 percent of the total sports betting market in New Jersey. Borgata is wanting a bigger share of that market.
