“We’re very proud to be able to deliver the excitement and engagement of sports betting and iGaming to our guests through our partnership with BetMGM. Our two leading global hospitality organizations will provide a wide array of immersive digital content as a complement to our exceptional shipboard casinos.”
Notably, Princess Cruises already operated an online sportsbook, Ocean Sportsbook, which was developed by Miomni Gaming.
This deal could portend future sports betting operations on cruise ships, as international waters make it simple to offer on-ship wagering.
Mobile casinos have been available on Carnival Cruise Line since 2015.
At the time, Paul Jarvis, Carnival’s VP of Global Casino Operations, stated that: “The platform allows us to serve up a much broader variety of game types than we are able to offer in the physical casino, and to provide this service for extended operating hours, including times when the physical casino may be closed.”
Now, Carnival is partnered with one of the biggest names in the casino industry, and is able to offer sports betting as well.
