LAS VEGAS – The NFL draft is swiftly approaching, and positional analysis reveals several interesting betting markets for who the first off the board will be at different positions.
With QB already having been discussed, let’s take a look at some of the other positions and see what we can learn.
2022 NFL Draft – 1st WR Selected Odds
- Garrett Wilson -110
- Jameson Williams +190
- Drake London +210
- Chris Olave +1800
- Treylon Burks +2000
- Jahan Dotson +7500
- Christian Watson +7500
Garrett Wilson of The Ohio State University Buckeyes is the likely first WR off the board according to the online sportsbooks.
Wilson is an elite athlete who projects as a true WR1, as compared to his Ohio State compatriot Chris Olave, who scouts seem to view as more of a limited prospect due to his smaller stature.
Drake London of the USC Trojans was regarded as a can’t-miss prospect entering the season, but he broke his ankle in October, and did not run a 40-yard dash at his pro day.
Jameson Williams of the Alabama Crimson Tide is a remarkable downfield talent that is also coming off of an injury, as he sustained a serious knee injury in the National Championship Game.
As far as longshots go, none of them are likely to rise to the level of the top three talents on the odds boards, as they all have serious knocks against them on some level.
Jahan Dotson is an incredible talent but his size might push him into a smaller role in the NFL, Treylon Burks pops on tape and in terms of size but had a slower 40 time than one might want.
Christian Watson might be the most likely of these players to move up – he has genuinely elite potential, but he played at NDSU, which limits the level of competition he was up against.
2022 NFL Draft Props – 1st RB Selected Odds
- Breece Hall -250
- Kenneth Walker III +280
- Isaiah Spiller +1500
- Kyren Williams +3500
- Dameon Pierce +2000
- Tyler Allgeier +2500
- James Cook +2500
- Brian Robinson Jr. +2500
Running back features one man who has been the consensus number one RB in the class for a while now – Breece Hall.
Hall, who played for the Iowa State Cyclones, was the 2020 rushing leader, and a unanimous All-American for Iowa State.

He’s a legit threat as a receiving back, having been compared to Dalvin Cook in terms of playstyle, and the only knock against him is that he might not be as far ahead of the others in this draft class as many think.
Kenneth Walker III is an unbelievable RB talent – he has many of the same skills as Hall, he finished higher in Heisman voting than Hall, and he averaged more yards per attempt than Hall.
He was not used nearly as much in the passing game as Hall, but his ability to operate in space suggests that he could develop into a player with true three-down skills.
Hall’s biggest upside is that he is an absolute truck when he gets going, despite his small size. He led the Big Ten in broken tackles, and Pro Football Focus’s counting of the stats suggests that he may be the most elusive player in Big Ten’s recent history.

Every other player on this list is a good-to-great NFL player, a starter at the very least, and Walker eclipsed them all.
At +280, he’s a very interesting wager, even if Breece Hall is a few inches taller, a few pounds heavier, and more experienced as a pass-catcher.
NFL betting fans should look into his odds if they’re interested in a longshot.
