Kevin Durant Leads Early NBA Finals Betting Odds, Spida No. 2

LAS VEGAS—With the NBA Playoffs nearing the Conference Finals, NBA bettors can now take a look at the betting odds for who will win the NBA Finals MVP.

Online sportsbooks currently have Kevin Durant as the heavy favorite to win, but is followed close behind by both Donovan Mitchell and Devin Booker.

Kevin Durant

It should not be a surprise as to why Kevin Durant’s NBA odds are heavy favorites to win the Finals MVP. Currently, in the 2021 Playoffs, Durant has been averaging 33.1 ppg, 9.1 rpg, and 4.4 apg. He has also been the glue that has kept the Brooklyn Nets competitive throughout all of their injuries in the postseason as well.

Something else to consider here is that Durant has won two Finals MVP awards in the past during his stint with the Golden State Warriors. Not to mention he had to compete for the award with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson who were also playing at the top of their game.

With that said, being that Durant is outperforming both Kyrie Irving and James Harden while leading the Nets over the Milwaukee Bucks right now, bettors can and should be betting on Durant to win the award before the price gets more expensive.

Donovan Mitchell

Following Kevin Durant with the second shortest odds is Donovan Mitchell and rightfully so. Mitchell has put this Utah Jazz team on his back in these playoffs thus far averaging the fourth most points in the postseason with 32.9 ppg.

Since entering the league back in 2017-2018, Mitchell has led this Jazz team to the playoffs in every year, however, they have not made it out of the second round of the playoffs. Now though, this team looks better than ever as they currently have the Los Angeles Clippers by the throat in the Semifinals and match up with the Phoenix Suns very well in the conference finals.

The fact that Mitchell has gained this much playoff experience in his first four seasons in the league is incredible and is bound to pay off fairly soon as this could be his chance to hold up the Finals MVP.

Devin Booker

What more is there to say about Devin Booker. He has drastically changed the culture of this Phoenix Suns team and they seem to be running with the opportunity. Granted, the addition of Chris Paul has certainly played a role on this team as well, but Bookers performance has been unfazed by this.

Booker currently leads the Suns in scoring right now throughout the playoffs with 27.9 ppg which is also good enough for the fifth-highest average amongst active playoff players. Being that Booker’s game seems to be evolving one game at a time, bettors can feel comfortable taking a swing here on his odds to win Finals MVP.

James Harden

James Harden is certainly a dark horse pick to win the Finals MVP, however, many are quick to forget that he is a former MVP of the league. On the season despite being trade, Harden has stayed true to his MVP form having gone for 24.6 ppg, 7.9 rpg, and 10.8 apg.

Also, before getting injured in the Nets second-round matchup with the Bucks, Harden was putting up 27.8 ppg, 10.6 apg, and 7.2 rpg. Numbers like that could easily win the regular season MVP let alone the Finals MVP.

If Harden can get back to that form in time for a Nets finals run, bettors can make a nice profit betting on him to win the Finals MVP.
