While there are plenty of flashy names atop the board, we are looking at some of the longshots a bit further down. These are players who have shown they are capable of playing at a world-class level, but maybe haven’t been on their best game in recent weeks.

Still, all of these names are fully capable of playing tremendous golf and all have the potential to be the next US Open champion.

Cameron Smith +5000

Australian Cam Smith has been racking up the accolades and top finishes over the last year and a half.

The 27-year old is currently the 11th ranked player in the FedEx Cup standings thanks to his win in the doubles tournament at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans back in April.

In addition to that win, Smith owns 11 top 25 finishes in his 17 tournaments played this season with six top tens, only two missed cuts, and a T2 finish at the Masters.

Smith excels around the green, where he is ranked sixth on Tour in sand save percentage and 11th in strokes gained: around-the-green. Smith just has that x-factor that has kept him on leaderboards throughout the year. It seems like only a matter of time before he is able to break through and grab his first major.

Webb Simpson +5000

One of the best all-around golfers on Tour, the sportsbooks are sleeping on Webb Simpson at this year’s US Open.

Through 14 events played this year, Simpson owns five top five finishes, nine top 25s, and has only been cut once. Simpson finished T8 at last year’s US Open and would love nothing more than to bring home a major championship to highlight his already illustrious resume.

The key for Simpson is driving accuracy, where he ranks 8th on Tour. Additionally, Simpson has one of the lowest average scores at 69.89, which sits fourth overall on Tour.

On an extremely difficult course like Torrey Pines, golfers who can be careful and hit fairways have a huge advantage. Webb is precisely that kind of guy.

Corey Connors +6600

The meteoric rise of Corey Connors has been well documented here at USAonlinesportsbooks golf betting coverage.

Connors has been a darling of ours for months now as he continued to rack up top ten finish after top ten finish.

Connors owns seven of them on the year, with an additional 15 Top 25s. Most impressively, Connors ranks in the top 25 on Tour for driving accuracy, greens in regulation, eagles, scoring average, strokes gained: off-the-tee, SG: approach the green, SG: tee-to-green, and total strokes gained.

To put it lightly, the dude is a monster on the advance stats, and on the course in person.

Connors really came out of nowhere over the last year, but has become one of the most consistent and reliable golfers on Tour to bet on.

While Connors absolutely has the potential to win the US Open, those playing it safe are recommended to also throw a unit or two on Connors to finish in the top ten.

Sungjae Im +10000

The final longshot choice was a no-brainer after a brief viewing of the odds. Sungjae Im is far too talented to be listed in the +10000 range, making him an instant pick for this golf bettor.

The 23-year old hasn’t played his best in recent months, but is still just a year removed from his second place finish at the Masters.

Sungjae showed he can ball up with the best on the big stage with his T17 finish at the PGA Championship, as well as T13 and T8 finishes at the RBC Heritage and Honda Classic.

Sungjae is just 23 years old, and will likely be around for a long time due to his ability to shape shots and hit big putts.

At the US Open, for +10000 odds, rolling with Sungjae is a winning play.
