- The Cleveland Browns are -6.5 point favorites on the spread against the New York Giants.

LAS VEGAS - Welcome to this Sunday edition of the Daily Sports Betting Preview.
This Preview starts out with an examination of the college basketball matchup between Michigan State and Northwestern. Then, the Preview takes a look at Sunday Night Football between the Browns and the Giants.
Finally, the League of Legends All Stars 2020 pits the LEC against the LCS in another installment of EU vs. NA.
There’s a lot to cover, so let’s get started!
College Basketball Betting
Michigan State are one of the better teams in college basketball - a sentence that has been true many years running. Under coach Tom Izzo, Michigan State has continually been at the top of the rankings with less talent than many major competitors.
This year, that remains relatively true - the Spartans sit at fourth in the college basketball Top 25. Today, they face off against Northwestern in a game that they are not as favored in as one might think.
Michigan State vs. Northwestern
- Michigan State -330
- Northwestern +265
Granted, they are playing on the road, but one might think that the fourth ranked team in the nation would get a bit more respect than this.
The Spartans are 6-0 for the season, although only one of those wins has come on the road, as most of their games have been played at home. Northwestern, meanwhile, enters this game with a 3-1 record, having played two games less than Michigan State.
Michigan State vs. Northwestern
- Michigan State -7.5 (-110)
- Northwestern +7.5 (-110)
The spread on this matchup is set at +/- 7.5 points, with no shading in either direction.
Michigan State may be 6-0 straight up, but they’re a bit lacking when it comes to covering the spread so far this season. Their ATS record is 2-4, and this could be part of why they aren’t getting a ton of respect when it comes to the spread.
In a vacuum, the #4 team in the nation playing against an unranked team would probably be favored by more than -7.5. However, there are three factors that confound that calculation:
Northwestern might be decent - they’ve only played a few games so far, and they’ve done well in them.
Michigan is on the road, where they’ve only played one game this season.
Michigan has had trouble covering the spread this season.
In other words, it seems like the college basketball oddsmakers might have hit this one right on the head.
Sunday Night Football Betting
Sunday Night Football this week pits the Cleveland Browns against the New York Giants in a game that projects to be more competitive than many will expect. The Giants, of course, play in the NFC East, the worst division in football, but they’ve been frisky recently, and picked up a solid win over the Seattle Seahawks.

The Browns, meanwhile, have locked up a winning season, and seem set to make the playoffs as well. A big loss to Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens last Monday threw a wrench into any dreams of taking the AFC’s first seed, however.
Now, the Browns are facing a team they should beat, but the spread on this game suggests it might be pretty close.
Cleveland Browns vs. New York Giants
- Cleveland Browns -300
- New York Giants +250
The Browns are solid favorites on the moneyline, with odds nearing -300 at most online sportsbooks.
Cleveland Browns vs. New York Giants
- Cleveland Browns -6.5 (-115)
- New York Giants +6.5 (-105)
The spread for the game has the Browns favored by just under a touchdown, but with a bit of shading in their direction.
In other words, it might not be a surprise to see the Browns as 7-point favorites at some point in the run up to the game.
This could be a much more compelling game than many NFL bettors envisioned, and is definitely worth paying attention to.
League of Legends All Stars 2020 Betting
League of Legends All Stars 2020 pits the best of each region against each other in exhibition matches.
Today’s matchup features the LEC All Stars against the LCS All Stars, a matchup between EU and NA.
These two rival regions have long battled for supremacy, with EU getting the best of NA most of the time. The LEC (EU), is favored in this matchup over the LCS (NA).
LEC All-Stars vs. LCS All-Stars
- LEC -175
- LCS +130
The LEC deserves to be favored in this matchup, and is generally regarded as hosting a higher level of talent than the LCS.
However, the matchup is not horrifically lopsided - an upset from the heroes of NA could be possible as well. Esports bettors should check this matchup out, and keep up with all the action from LoL’s All Stars 2020.
