The Preview starts out with some darts, as the Icons of Darts competition brings several betting opportunities to the table.
Next, there are some NFL sim games that are available to bet on at most major online sportsbooks as well.
Finally, there are two games in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Flashpoint competition, as esports mania sweeps a mostly shut down globe.
Without further ado, let’s get started.
Icons Of Darts Betting Preview
The Icons of Darts tournament brings darts action all day today, with games going from 9:45 a.m. EST all the way to 4:45 p.m. EST.
The league takes the form of a round-robin style competition, with each of the Icons going up against the others in different variations until a winner is crowned.
The current leader is David Evans, who is followed very closely by Wessel Nijman. Evans and Nijman are barely separated at all in the standings, and their match today is one of the most interesting on the betting slate.
Their match begins as a very close one on the moneyline, with both Nijman and Evans clocking in with -120 odds to win it straight up.
This reflects the even nature of this match between the leaders of this competition so far.
When a handicap is applied, of course, the odds change. The online sports betting websites use something similar to a puck line for betting on events like this with a spread.
What that means is that one player gets handicapped at +1.5, one is handicapped at -1.5, and then action is taken on those new lines.
Evans (-1.5) is +162, while Nijman (+1.5) is -187. The makeshift puck line appears to do its job, creating a varied and interesting betting situation.
The Icons of Darts league has a lot of games being played and adding volume to the betting slate can be beneficial for sports bettors anywhere.
NFL Sims Betting
There are an astounding amount of organizations and people who are using various NFL video games to simulate the 2020 NFL season.
BetOnline’s sportsbook allows NFL bettors to bet on a couple of different games today, both of which are fully simulated.
In the first game, the Houston Texans take on the Green Bay Packers. This game uses the 2019 rosters for both teams.

The Packers are favored in the game by 3.5 points on the spread and there has been some action on that spread as well.
Packers (-3.5) is -125, while Texans (+3.5) is -105.
The Over/Under for the game is set at 48.5 points, which seems to be a reasonable number - there is no shading either direction, with both the Over and the Under having -115 odds.
The second game today features a battle of the birds as the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Seattle Seahawks. Once again, both teams are using the 2019 rosters for this simulation, and once again the spread is 3.5 points.
In this match, the favorite by those 3.5 points is the Seattle Seahawks. There is little shading on this spread, though.
The Seahawks (-3.5) has -115 odds, as does Eagles (+3.5).
The Over/Under line for the game is set at 48.5 points, and similarly has no shading either direction with the Over having -115 odds and the Under having -115 odds.
NFL sims are decidedly not the NFL. But they are interesting and they do add some valuable opportunities for bettors to put their NFL knowledge to work.
CS:GO Flashpoint Betting
The CS:GO Flashpoint competition brings several matches to the betting slate today, as esports picks up momentum around the world with so many major sports leagues shut down.
One interesting match is between Gen.G and Havu Gaming. This match is one of the most even matches on the card, as Gen.G enters with -110 odds while Havu slightly edges them out with -115 odds.
Many esports bettors will be familiar with the way in which esports betting tends to work - the spreads usually involve a match line, often set at 1.5, and refer to the amount of games or sets won within a match.
Gen.G (-1.5) is +250, while Havu (+1.5) is -345. These are Bo3 matches, so keep in mind that 1.5 is a very significant handicap.
On a similar note, the Over/Under for games needed to decide the match is set at 2.5, which basically means it’s a bet on whether or not the match will end 2-0 or 2-1.
The Over has even odds while the Under has -125 odds. This reflects an idea that, despite the teams being relatively evenly matched, the match is slightly favored to end 2-0 over 2-1.
This is an interesting development given how close this match appears to be on paper, with the teams barely being separated on the moneyline.
Esports betting is still in its infancy, but it gains popularity daily - and as long as the major sports leagues are shut down, it’s the only game in town.
